Inheritance Tax
Inheritance tax (IHT) has morphed from a straightforward system to a "complex maze of traps for the unwary", a report by Grant Thornton has concluded.
The inheritance tax (IHT) threshold freeze has boosted government revenues from the tax by 14%, an accountancy firm said.
The government has moved a step closer to implementing a general anti-avoidance rule (GAAR) to the tax system after a report recommended the move today.
