Canada Life Group Insurance (CLGI)has announced the launch of CMS Connect providing employer and employee support to its Claims Management Services (CMS+) branded proposition.

CLGI has reduced the level of premium required to access these services, available for GIP schemes with premiums in the £75 - £100,000 pa range.

Those with an annual premium in excess of £100,000 pa already have access to full CMS+ ViP services, and also to CMS+ Early Intervention services (EIS) where the scheme premium exceeds £300,000 pa.

CMS Connect utilises an initial employer on-site presentation and workshop, to demonstrate the services in full. CMS Connect clients will be invited to an annual review of service provision at the CLGI Bristol head office.

CMS Connect provides five levels of dedicated contact for employers to support their claims submission, adjudication and ongoing management needs. The five levels are:
1) Head Office Claims Management Consultant,
2) Claims Management Assistant,
3) administration support
4) access to a UK-wide Rehabilitation Consultancy team; plus
5) overall service support from the Manager, Claims Management Services.

Mike Newcombe, director of claims management services (CMS) comments: "Our experience in CMS+ service provision to more than 250 clients has created partnerships between CLGI and employers that have seen improvements in claims experience and subsequent cost control, with sustained or improved premium rates resulting - thus bringing more confidence to the continued provision of Group Income Protection benefits.

"In lowering the bar in terms of access, and utilising our head office specialist skills, the new CMS Connect option provides CLGI with the opportunity to widen the provision of its unique services still further. "
