Specialist asset manager Osmosis Investment Management has appointed Rory Sullivan as head of responsible investment (RI).

Sullivan was previously head of RI at Insight Investment, where he integrated environmental, social and governance issues into the firm's investment processes.

He was also responsible for the quality of Insight's engagement with companies and governments on social and environmental issues.

Osmosis Investment Management CEO June Aitken says: "As investors, we have a fundamental obligation to our clients and to society at large to protect and enhance the quality of the companies in which we are invested.

"Rory's appointment will enable us to deliver on this obligation through supporting the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues into our investment decisions, and encouraging the companies in which we are invested to operate to the highest standards of corporate governance and responsibility."

Osmosis listed a climate solutions ETF on the London Stock Exchange in February, investing in a range of global companies that contribute towards a more sustainable economy.

The fund replicates the Osmosis Climate Solutions index, which comprises 100 companies that derive more than 50% of revenue from products or services focused on the efficient use of natural resources and the mitigation of climate change.
