Credit Suisse Asset Management has appointed Joseph Ho in the newly created role of head of ETFs Asia Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Ho will be responsible for leading the development of the firm's ETF platform in Asia. He will report to Neil Harvey, head of Asia Pacific for the entire asset management division, and Dan Draper as global head of ETFs.

Prior to this role, Ho worked at Lyxor Asset Management as head of ETF sales and marketing, Asia ex-Japan. Before joining the firm in 2007, he worked for Barclays Global Investors for eight years, becoming head of iShares Asia ex-Japan in 2006.

Credit Suisse launched its ETF platform in 2001, initially in Switzerland before expanding its platform across Europe to trade on the London Stock Exchange, Xetra and the Italian Borsa. The firm has $15.6bn in ETF assets under management as of the end of 2010.
