The more things change ...
To complete the pithy aphorism: the more they stay the same. FSA; RDR; Human Rights Law; 'Elf 'n' Safety; Biweekly dustbins: just a few incendiary subjects on which burning views have been expressed and repressed of course. On the altar of continuity in the tabernacle of politics the hopes and fervent prayers of suffering humanity are usually torn into pieces by the priests of parliamentary democracy. Now, what did I do with my new expenses claim?

Tories will not scrap personal accounts
Of course the Tories will not scrap personal accounts. On certain things they are no better than the bunch of idiots that are currently in power. The aim of personal accounts is to ensure that empoyers and employees in the private sector pay to keep people off benefits when they reach retirement. meanwhile, the bloated and inefficient public sector will carry on receiving gold-plated pensions paid for out of private sector tax. Yes, people employed in the public sector pay tax (as they will argue), but they pay tax on income that is also funded by the private sector. The government and all its employees are paid for by the private sector - the government produces nothing, it simply distributes other people's money.
