Please no more Nanny
The very thought of being 'tricked', to use your word, opens a totally different door where Nanny is in charge and everything is for your own good - normally decided by someone without any authority to make such changes or responsibility to correct expensive mistakes when they are made (at my expense that always is). At the end of the day, it becomes just another hidden tax. Freedom encompasses the right for us to make our own mistakes. It also requires us to be responsible for our actions and to accept the blame for making wrong decisions (particularly if that decision was to do nothing when we should have done something) It keeps us honest and on our toes. Your suggested 'immoral' door frightens me to death. I would resist it with every fibre of my being. Its about time Nanny went back to basics and started teaching people to do things for themselves. Fire burns, therefore ban all fire is not the way to do this. regards Bob Stark

Nest/nudge.
This is very much along the lines of stakeholder. The government got that wrong. When people find our that their take home pay reduces they will look at the more important issues to them e.g. mortgage, council tax heating, food and believe it or not holidays and opt out. Millions spent again coming up with a scheme that will not succeed other than to employ more people in government to police it
