With the US small cap universe being defined by Standard & Poor's as companies valued between $1bn and $4bn, the sector name could be slightly misleading. In fact US small cap encompasses some large international companies and is viewed as one of the best ways to gain access to the world's largest economy. In this debate the panel discuss the pros and cons of investing in this sector as well as their views on the US economy and why "QE3 will be politically difficult to justify".

The US Small Cap panel includes:

Frank Gannon - Assistant Portfolio Manager and Principal, Legg Mason Affiliate Royce & Associates

Alec Young - Global Equity Strategy for the US, Europe, and Asia, Standard & Poor's

Cormac Weldon - Head of US Equities, Threadneedle
