News from financial fools beyond the help of even the Government's basic advice service. Today, the tax dodging Chorley chippy.
How about this piece of imaginative accounting from The Chorley Guardian....
A chippy owner who stashed £700,000 at his shop and home to avoid paying tax and excise duty has been jailed for two years and four months.
Mustapha Aitbouzit of Brown's chippy in Chorley, was found guilty of fraudulent evasion of excise duty and money laundering following an investigation by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
Laundered cash amounting to £708,225.38 was found in notes packaged in white envelopes hidden under a bed and in the shop's cafe.
Illegal cigarettes and tobacco were kept under the counter and in a locked room above the shop in which 11,840 cigarettes and 300g of hand rolling tobacco were seized.
Search teams found £500,000 hidden in Aitbouzit's garage and under the bushes in his garden.
He'll have to get used to the taste of prison food now...
