MPs nominated for new Treasury Select Committee

Former Treasury Select Committee chairman John McFall is among the MPs this morning nominated to become members of the new TSC.

Several new names are among those proposed as the potential membership of 11 committee members, however, those are today nominated again and who previously recorded evidence from government, industry and trade body officials include Jim Cousins, Angela Eagle, Michael Fallon - former chairman of the TSC sub-committee - and George Mudie.

A debate as to who will sit on the TSC committee for this parliament will be held tomorrow.

The full list of nominated MPs which will be responsible for scrutinising Treasury expenditure, admin, policy, as well as regulation and development of the financial services industry, is as follows:

  • Lorely Burt (Liberal Democrat)
  • Jim Cousins (Labour)
  • Angela Eagle (Labour)
  • Michael Fallon (Conservative)
  • Damian Green (Conservative)
  • Sally Keeble (Labour)
  • Susan Kramer (Liberal Democrat)
  • Andrew Love (Labour/Co-operative Movement)
  • Kerry McCarthy (Labour)
  • John McFall (Labour)
  • George Mudie (Labour)
  • David Ruffley (Conservative)
  • Mark Todd (Labour), and
  • Peter Viggers (Conservative).
