Climate Change Investment Awards shortlist announced

The shortlists have been announced for the Climate Change Investment Awards organised by Investment Week/Professional Adviser and advisers Holden & Partners.

The winners of each of the six categories will be announced at the House of Commons on 25th November this year.

1) Fund Management Group

  • Allianz Global Investors;
  • DWS Investments;
  • Henderson Global Investors;
  • Impax Asset Management,
  • Jupiter Asset Management.
  • F&C Asset Management

2) Best Climate Change Fund

  • Allianz RCM Global Ecotrends;
  • DWS Invest Climate Change;
  • F&C Global Climate Opportunities;
  • Henderson Industries of the Future;
  • Jupiter Ecology;
  • Schroders Global Climate Change.

4). Innovation in Climate Change Investment

  • Henderson Global Investors for its Industries of the Future Fund, which invests solely in solution providers, and undertaking a carbon audit of its investment portfolio;
  • Impax Asset Management for its joint venture with the FT to create the FTSE Environmental Opportunities All Share Index;
  • Pictet Funds for its Water Fund;
  • Low Carbon Investors for the first specialist low carbon fund.

5). Alternative Energy Fund (> then 50% in alternative energy)

  • Blackrock New Energy Investment Trust
  • Pictet Clean Energy
  • Allianz RCM Global Eco Trends

5) Water, Food, Agriculture & Forestry fund (> than 50% in any one category)

  • Pictet Water
  • DWS Invest Global Agribusiness
  • Credit Agricole Asset Management Funds Aqua Global

6) Private Client Portfolio Manager

  • King & Shaxson,
  • Holden & Partners

The judging panel consists of: Dr Bill McGuire, is Professor of Geophysical Hazards at University College London. His book - Seven Years to Save the Planet, will be published in July 2008.

Peter Holden and Mark Hoskins, of Holden & Partners, the advisory firm and specialists in climate change investment funds; James Murray, editor of BusinessGreen, www.businessgreen.com, a specialist website about the environmental challenges facing businesses; Martin Fox, consultant to Pure Trust, the carbon offsetting charity; and

Lawrence Gosling, editorial director of Investment Week, Professional Adviser, and IFAonline.
