AXA has today announced revised rates for several of its protection products, which the firm says will bring considerable benefits to customers.

According to AXA, the move will see 51% of premiums fall in price, with an average reduction of 3.5%.

The products affected are Level Life Cover, Decreasing Life Cover, Guaranteed Level Life or Earlier Critical Illness Cover and Guaranteed Decreasing Life or Earlier Critical Illness Cover.

Twenty year old male smokers will see some of the biggest benefits, as their payments for level life cover will fall 17%, from £15.99 to £13.33.

Iain Mallon, director of protection marketing at AXA, comments: “We are committed to ensuring that the AXA Protection Account combines competitive rates with quality covers.

"The quality of covers is demonstrated by the 5 Star ratings awarded by Defaqto, for Level Term with Critical Illness and Decreasing Term with Critical Illness covers.”
