Philip Ehrmann is joining Jupiter in October to launch a Chinese equity fund.
Ehrmann was one of four individuals who left Gartmore immediately after the announcement of its management buyout, but is now joining Jupiter’s Far East desk – alongside Simon Somerville and Ben Surtees – to manage a China equity unit trust.
He was previously at Gartmore for 16 years, having been head of pacific and emerging markets - until it was merged with another division through the merger – and ran several funds including the Gartmore Pacific opportunities and China opportunities funds alongside hedge fund and institutional mandates.
