Aegon UK today named Duncan Jarrett as sales director, replacing retiree David Rogers.
Jarrett, who joined Scottish Equitable in 1986, will be responsible for leading the company's UK sales force.
He will also be responsible for Aegon's specialist Corporate Solutions sales team and its Access adviser telephone support centre.
Aegon, which credits Jarrett as the "driving force" behind its winning the mandate for BP's defined contribution pension scheme last year, says he is perfectly-suited to an adviser-facing role.
"Duncan takes on the key role of sales director during a challenging time for our industry, as providers and advisers adapt their businesses to ensure they are in the right shape to respond to the new requirements of the RDR," Aegon UK executive director of sales, distribution and development Adrian Grace says.
"His strong leadership qualities and experience in training and technology will be of great value to Aegon."
Jarrett joined Scottish Equitable in 1986 as a sales consultant and has held a number of key senior sales management roles. From 2005 he held the position of national sales director.
