Fidelity International has launched a Facebook site for investors, including a portfolio challenge game designed to help consumers think about their investments.

Hot-on-the-heels of the launch of its Twitter page, Fidelity says it is the first UK asset manager to set up a Facebook site specifically for investors.

To mark the launch of www.facebook.com/fidelityuk, the company has created a portfolio challenge game, designed to help investors think about their investments and demonstrate the benefits of diversification.

Fidelity International head of UK personal investments Rob Fisher says social media presents new ways to communicate with clients.

"Facebook and Twitter are, of course, both rapidly-growing networks and are an excellent way in which we can deliver financial information and opinions to our customers quickly and efficiently and engage in more direct dialogue with them.

"It also means that they can access this information on the move, 24/7 and directly to their iPhone, BlackBerry or other mobile web devices."
