Matt King, principal at London-based adviser The Investment Company, has been named the 2010 Adviser of the Year by network giant Sesame.
His company was two-for-two after also winning Top Firm - London & South at the Sesame Adviser Awards on 11 March in London.
King, who began his career as an adviser with Porchester in 1986, set up The Investment Company in 1992 because he wanted to add his "own personal touch rather than be put through the mill of a larger company".
King's award recognised his ability to "excel in a number of areas and maintain good volumes", according to Sesame Bankhall. The adviser turned over £1.2m last year.
"The award for the company is also great, as obviously it has been a difficult year. The key is consistency," King says.
The awards are voted for by Sesame Bankhall members.
Stephen Young, chief operating officer at Sesame Bankhall Group, says: "These awards are a positive endorsement of the high quality service and support that these companies are delivering to IFAs and mortgage brokers.
"The past year has been another challenging one for our industry and it is good to be able to celebrate the achievements of some of our member firms, along with our provider and lender partners, who have demonstrated continued success in these difficult times."

What do you care harry. Get out more. get on with your job. Why is he a flogger? Judge by turnover because thats how successful businesses are judged. Of course its earnings, why would £1.2m be a successful person. Also why do you think they havent taken complaints, persistency etc into account. You'll be familiar with transference in terms of psychology. Give the guy some credit. He has perfomed well and Sesame have an excellent businessman and you clearly are not busy at all. Go and do some work
