The Institute for Financial Planning (IFP) is hosting a conference on how to build a more holistic advice model.

The IFP says the aim of the one-day event is to highlight "real financial planning in practice", and how it differs from other types of financial advice.

It is targeted at IFAs who want more information on what a financial planning service looks like as well as existing financial planners or paraplanners wanting to review core financial planning processes.

Experienced financial planners and industry experts will be presenting sessions, which the IFP says are designed to inform, inspire and motivate delegates.

Members and non-members of IFP are welcome to attend.

Former president of the IFP, and founder and chairman of the Prestwood support services group, Paul Etheridge MBE will speak at the event.

He says financial planners are facing their most exciting opportunities ever "if they rise to the challenge".

"This means terms of business to guarantee profitability, better preparation for meetings, using lifelong cash flow forecasts and planning with clients to help them achieve their desired lifestyle and avoid running out of money. Wonderful!" he adds.

IFP chief executive Nick Cann says: "This event will set out the key requirements and opportunities that now exist.

"It will be an eye opener for many as they can "lift the lid" and see for themselves how the financial planning process can help them and their clients. It will particularly benefit those businesses and advisers struggling with some of the challenges posed by RDR."

Financial Planning in Practice" will  take place on 30 June at The Village Hotel, Solihull, West Midlands. Early booking rates apply until 1 June at www.Financialplanning.org.uk.
