A series of regional adviser briefings unveiling a new platform comparison service along with regulatory guidance ahead of the RDR is set to roll out next month.
The free events, launched by Capita Financial Software (Capita) and The Platforum, will showcase the new Comparator technology in addition to providing broader technical and regulatory guidance on platform due diligence in the run up to the RDR.
Kicking-off in Edinburgh on 22 June, the briefings then take in cities including London, Manchester, Leeds and Bristol before concluding in Birmingham on July 22.
Each event, which is open to all intermediaries, will be hosted by either a platform or distributor, with AXA, Skandia, Standard Life, FundsNetwork and Cofunds amongst those taking part.
Live demonstrations of Comparator will be accompanied by interactive sessions so advisers can better understand how platforms can be aligned to client segmentation and comply with the FSA's CP10/2 platform thematic review.
"The last decade has seen a major change in the IFA investment market and now with the wider investment choices introduced by platforms, along with the transparency of the RDR changes, improving both client servicing and due diligence has never been more important," says Capita business development director William Watling.
Last month, Skandia also launched an online platform due diligence tool allowing advisers to ask tailored questions to help with their platform selection process.
