White takes on Mott funds

Premier has hired former Threadneedle manager Chris White to take over three income funds from veteran Bill Mott.

Effective 17 November, White will run the Premier Income, Alpha Income and Monthly Income funds after Premier decided to bring management of the vehicles in-house.

White, Threadneedle in February this year, managed a range of funds at Threadneedle including the Managed Income and Monthly Extra Income funds. He was previously a fund manager at Legg Mason, running the LMI UK Equity Income and Monthly Income Funds.

PSigma's Mott and colleague Neil Cumming took over the three funds in July last year, after Premier acquired 10 funds from Credit Suisse. The three funds were run by LVAM's Graham Ashby before CSAM left the UK space.

"Premier investors and their advisers will be pleased that we are continuing to recruit highly regarded individuals and building our in-house fund management skills," Premier CEO Mike O'Shea says.

"I am delighted to welcome a manager of Chris's proven experience to Premier. He will join the growing UK investment team and will help us continue to develop our funds business.

"I am also grateful to Bill Mott, Neil Cumming and the UK team at PSigma for their stewardship of the Premier income funds over the last year or so."
