Peter McGahan, managing director of Worldwide Financial Planning, was yesterday charged with rape.
McGahan, 43, was originally arrested in January over an alleged attack on a woman in her 20s.
The director, who is married with three children, answered bail at Newquay yesterday morning charged with one count of rape.
The alleged incident took place on 19 December 2010 after an event at the Royal Duchy Hotel in Cornwall.
McGahan was released on bail while police investigated further and will appear before magistrates on 16 June in Truro.
Peter McGahan, managing director of Worldwide Financial Planning, said: "My wife and I are devastated by these allegations. I have the full support of my wife and business partner.
"I totally deny that there is any substance to the allegations. I look forward to establishing my innocence at trial in due course.
"I have been building a business for 13 years and we are incredibly proud of the work we do both as a financial adviser and within the community. I am therefore continuing to work hard as usual.
" I would like to thank my wife Mandy and my trusted friends and business associates for all their amazing support through this difficult time."
