Aegon UK has appointed Patrick Gale to executive chairman of distribution.

The change will give Gale, a former CEO of network giant Sesame, a more proactive role overseeing the insurer's advisory businesses, Positive Solutions and Origen.

Jim Reeve, CEO of Positive Solutions and Stephen Greenstreet, managing director of Origen, will report to Gale.

Adrian Grace, chief executive of Aegon UK, said: "Origen and Positive Solutions have made a number of changes in recent years to get ready for the RDR and strong business performance will be critical to their future success.

"It's important we make the most of the expertise available to us and Patrick will be able to bring his considerable experience to bear in this new role."
