Oriel Securities has highlighted the top equity based investment trusts yielding more than the FTSE 100, FTSE 250 and Small Cap.
With yields of 6.2%, both the Shires Income, run by Aberdeen, and Henderson High Income trusts have a historic payout substantially above the 3.2% yield on the FTSE 100.
They are also well ahead of the FTSE 250 and FTSE Small Cap indices, which yield 2.5% and 3% respectively.
The £57m Shires trust and the £120m Henderson High Income offering have seen their NAVs rise 11.3% and 14.3% in the last year.
In total Oriel highlights 15 investment trusts with higher payouts than major UK markets.
