It has been another busy week in the world of financial services...

Jon Everill, a former director at Bluefin and a co-founder of Destini, was this week voted in as the new president of the Personal Finance Society. He succeeds Edward Grant in the role.

Openwork has appointed Philip Martin as marketing and propositions director. He joins from F&C Investment, where he was proposition director.

Old Mutual Asset Managers has appointed Kevin Lilley as a fund manager to run the Old Mutual European Equity Fund. He joins in October.

Steve Haynes, finance director for LV='s life business, has been promoted to chief risk officer.

Bestinvest has appointed former UBS head of investment management Gareth Lewis as head of investment management.  

F&C Thames River has hired Stephen McCall, formerly broker sales desk manager at Ignis, to its UK retail sales team.

Ascentric sales and marketing director Richard Goodall has resigned to pursue other interests.

James Hay sales and marketing director Richard Mattison has left the SIPP provider to pursue other interests.

Ignis Advisors has recruited Aoifinn Devitt, principal and founder of Clontarf Capital, as head of client strategies. She will be joined by two of her former associates, Javier Herranz and Cian O'Sullivan, in the investment team. The company has also hired Mark Long as chief operating officer from FRM, while Andreas Schroeder, formerly of ABP, has joined as head of quant analytics.
