Ten of this week's best-read stories...

2. MEP blasts MiFID II

The MiFID debate rumbles on. This week, Syed Kamall said he was "not impressed" with the EU's impact on UK regulation - and called for an independent review.

4. LV= / Hornbuckle deal off

7. National recruiting spree

Had a rush of recruitment emails this week? You're not alone. But advisers said the latest rash of job offers was "amusing" rather than irritating.

8. Packaged accounts

They've been pretty busy this week, the FSA. The regulator proposed a new set of rules to ensure banks and building societies check customers are eligible for insurance products before selling them packaged accounts.

9. Fund sales dive

Poor fund managers. According to the Investment Management Association, fund sales this month have been the lowest since October 2008.

10. FSA fee change
