Ashcourt Rowan has appointed Jim Roberts, founder of Skandia Investment Management, to the board as a non-executive director.

Roberts [pictured] worked for Skandia Group for 26 years, as an actuary, finance director and finally as group investment director. During that time, he set up Skandia Investment Management, which he chaired from its inception.

Ashcourt Rowan chairman Kenneth West said: "Jim has been at the forefront of developments in the financial services industry for many years and I am extremely pleased to be able to welcome him to Ashcourt Rowan.

"With Jim on board we will have access to one of the best and most progressive thinkers in the industry and his experience will be of huge benefit to us as we look to continue to develop and grow the business."

Roberts is also a non-executive director at MGM Advantage and Sarasin & Partners; sits on the investment board at Insynergy Investment Management and Verbatim Asset Mangement; and on the advisory board at SimplyBiz.
