Here we list who has moved where in another busy week in the offshore sector.
Jean-Baptise de Franssu has been elected president of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) for a two year term. Having already served as vice president, he succeeds Dr Mathias Bauer who will focus on his responsibilities as CEO of Raiffeisen Capital Management (RCM) in Vienna.
Franssu is CEO of Invesco Europe and joined Invesco France as managing director in 1990, moving to his current position when Invesco Europe was founded in 1996.
Claude Kremer has been appointed vice president of EFAMA, to fill Franssu's old role. He is chairman of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) as well as a founding partner and head of investment management of law firm Arendt & Medernach in Luxembourg.
Ogier has made 17 staff redundant following an efficiency drive aimed to reposition the business for the coming 12 to 18 months. Of those leaving its Jersey branch, six are lawyers, three legal secretaries and eight employees in business services groups. The firm currently employs 485 people in Jersey, including 91 lawyers.
Liontrust Asset Management has poached GAM's Ross Hollyman, who will join the firm in January 2010. Currently an investment director at GAM, he is responsible for UK and European equity long only and short/long portfolios. Hollyman was formerly a senior portfolio manager with JP Morgan Fleming.
He will develop global equity investment processes in Liontrust's latest move to diversify its product range, contains include plans to launch a number of collective investment vehicles, including offshore funds.
Standard Bank has hired Kevin Colglazier as head of the investment division in its global private bank. He joined the bank in 2006 as chief investment officer of Standard Asset Management and was previously chief investment officer for Chase Manhattan Private Bank in Asia and Europe.
Colglazier will be responsible for the private client investment teams in London, Jersey and South Africa managing discretionary and advisory client accounts, plus offshore funds.
Expat insurance specialist William Russell has expanded its network of providers to broaden cashless out-patient access to medical treatment in China and Hong Kong for expats with a Global Health Elite insurance policy.
