New roles for Butterfield Guernsey executives

John Robinson has been appointed as Managing Director of Butterfield Bank (Guernsey) Ltd. Former Deputy Manager, Robinson takes over from Bob Moore who has been Managing Director of Butterfield’s Guernsey operation for the past 14 years. Moore has been appointed to a new global role within the Butterfield Group and will assume wider responsibilities, as Executive Vice President and Head of Group Trust, leading the development of Butterfield’s Group Trust businesses from its six jurisdictional offices in Bermuda, The Bahamas, Cayman, Guernsey, Switzerland and Butterfield International Private Office in London.

Barclays Wealth Fund Managers surrenders licence

Barclays Wealth Fund Managers (Isle of Man) Limited has surrendered its licence in the Isle of Man. As Barlclays Wealth runs its funds business from Guernsey, the decision was taken not to continue to hold the Isle of Man licence. "It has no impact on clients or staff. It is business as usual for Barclays Wealth in the Isle of Man," commented a spokesperson.

France, Russia and the United States join forces

A french law firm based in Russia - GLN Russia and Alexandra Darraby of US-based Art Law Firm plan to work together to provide international clients comprehensive expertise on art law in Russia and internationally. Services will include asset management of intellectual property rights, corporate restructuring models for Russian companies in the USA, market analysis for branding and licensing copyright, trademarks, digital rights assessment, joint sponsorship agreements, particularly in the fields of art, entertainment, culture, new media, architecture and corporate and business development.
