Barclays Capital has launched a further UK Equity index-linked structured deposit account for offshore bond investors.

The sterling denominated account gives investors return of their capital on maturity, along with potential exposure to the FTSE 100 Index and has been designed exclusively as an investment link for use within offshore bonds.

The three year deposit account is tailored for sterling investors seeking a medium-term traditional growth-style product linked to equities. The pay off at maturity is return of initial capital plus an investment return of the rise in the FTSE 100 Index capped at 21%.

Barclays Capital adds that while this account has been made available in sterling, it can create similar accounts denominated in other key currencies where demand is sufficient.

Investors need to make a minimum investment of £20,000.  Access to these deposit accounts is available via most offshore life bond providers (based predominantly in Isle of Man, Dublin and the Channel Islands) and select UK onshore life insurance company wrappers.

Participation in the account is open until 29 March, 2012. The account matures on 31 March 2015.
