HSBC has launched two ETFs tracking Latin American equities on the London Stock Exchange, growing its range to 18 funds.
The HSBC MSCI EM Latin America and MSCI Mexico Capped ETFs are both listed in sterling and US dollars at a total expense ratio of 0.60%.
Both funds will physically replicate their respective indices, as with all ETFs on HSBC's platform, although the Latin America ETF may use an ‘optimisation' technique and limit its exposure to certain underlying securities.
As with many of HSBC's ETF launches to date, this latest move looks to capitalise on the firm's experience in international markets.
HSBC head of ETFs Farley Thomas says HSBC already has $55bn in assets under management invested in Latin American markets through various investment products.
He adds: "Our latest ETF launches, along with the HSBC MSCI Brazil ETF launched in July last year, aim to provide high quality, good value access to the performance of major Latin American markets and the region as a whole."
