Barclays was hit with more than 276,000 customer complaints in the second half of last year - or the equivalent of more than 1,500 per day. But how did the major insurance companies fare?
The FSA today published complaints data (aggregate and firm-specific) outlining the number of new and closed grievances dealt with by firms in H2 2010.
It includes firms that report 500 or more complaints in a six-monthly reporting period. These firms have also been required to publish this data on their websites.

Below we have picked out the data of a handful of life offices and insurers to give you an idea of how they are faring:

Closed complaints: 2,790
% of closed complaints upheld (average): 60%
