Greek government to be announced today
The new Greek government will be announced today as prime minister George Papandreou prepares to step down.

Papandreou will meet with Greek president Karolos Papoulias at 10AM GMT, the Guardian reports.

After this, the new government will be announced, according to the paper.

Osborne condemns Tobin Tax
Chancellor George Osborne has warned a European Tobin Tax is a "big tax on pensioners" which will cost a million jobs.

During talks in Brussels Osborne condemned the tax, which he claimed will drive financial services in London and Europe to the US and Asia.

"There is not a single banker in this world that is going to pay this tax. The people who will pay this tax are pensioners," he said according to the Telegraph.

Osborne's comments built on a letter sent to the European Commission by Dutch pension provider APG, which claimed providers would pass the cost of the tax on to consumers, reducing their savings pots.

Chinese inflation falls to 5.5%
Chinese inflation fell to a five-month low of 5.5% year-on-year over October.

It was the third month of slowing inflation, down from 6.1% in September, the Financial Times reports.

The consumer price inflation weakened month-on-month, growing only 0.1% in October compared to 0.5% in September.
