In a joint initiative with Australian-based advisory firm Elston Partners, the Federation of European Independent Financial Advisers (FEIFA) is to offer financial advice services to Australian expats

FEIFA says it believes the initiative with Elston Partners is a first for the marketplace in delivering advice and services to Australian expats in a manner that they understand and in the same way that they were used to in Australia.

Elston Partners specialises in the provision of Managed Discretionary Account (MDA) services that are purposely designed to cater for Australian expatriates. Importantly, the MDA service can operate while they are based overseas but can be easily transitioned and transferred “back home” in a simple, no-cost, tax-effective manner.

“With over one million Australian expats living overseas, this provides an excellent opportunity for our members to provide a quality service that falls outside of their normal scope”, FEIFA CEO Paul Stanfield explained.

“Australian expats are notoriously a difficult group to attract and advise, in the international environment,” Stanfield asserted. “This partnership will allow our members to tap into this very lucrative market by providing a service and structure that the client will understand and relate to,” he adds.

FEIFA’s Partnership Programme has been highly successful since launch in March last year. It has attracted a large number of well-known industry heavyweights in combination with a good range of more specialist and boutique providers.

The Federation is a non-profit trade association for English-speaking IFAs who are based or operating on the Continent and now represents in excess of 300 advisers operating across Europe and further afield, advising on cumulative estimated assets in excess of €2.5bn.
